OVERVIEW

GREENWEAR combines C-14 analysis with dyestuff-to-fabric marker comparison to verify natural dyeing. Wastewater concentration and substance analyses characterise the dyeing process’s environmental outputs.

Biobased-origin verification with C-14

Radiocarbon analysis (ASTM D6866) determines the biobased carbon content of the dyestuff. Its constituent profile is then used for fabric verification.

Dyestuff-to-fabric marker comparison

HPLC-DAD and LC-MS are used to analyse and compare marker compounds in the dyestuff and dyed fabric. Marker correspondence is assessed together with biobased-origin results to verify natural dyeing.

Wastewater concentration and substance analysis

Wastewater BOD, TOC, SS, T-N and T-P are analysed and compared with chemical dyeing. Substance analysis provides further information on outputs to support process improvement.
